From first ideas through to commercialisation and industry partnerships, Research & Innovation provides guidance and expert advice to support the delivery of the University’s research and knowledge exchange strategies, and achievement of its RKE ambitions. 

We manage the research and knowledge exchange (RKE) portfolio (approximately £900 million in active research, training and KE grants) in collaboration with the academic community, and deliver against institutional and external key performance indicators in order to ensure the university’s compliance with major funders and government agencies.

Professor Sarah Sharples appointed Deputy Chair for REF2029 sub-panel

Description
Sarah Sharples, Professor of Human Factors in the Faculty of Engineering and Chief Scientific Adviser for the Department for Transport, has been appointed as Deputy Chair of sub-panel 12 (Engineering) for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029 – the UK's national system for assessing the quality of research in higher education.

George Green Library Café closed - Friday 18 July

Description
The café at George Green Library will be closed temporarily on Friday 18 July whilst work takes place, and will re-open Saturday 19 July. Alternative cafe's can be found elsewhere on University Park Campus, such as Costa and Portland Café in the Portland Building.
