Dynamics
The focus of the dynamics group is dynamic issues, addressing in particular the shafts and bearings within transmission systems. Work has recently begun on the dynamic characteristics of rolling-element bearings, with particular regard to the incidence of cage-lapping, and on the structural design issues associated with squeeze-film dampers.
