Summer break opening hours

Services on campus may close or operate on a reduced schedule.

Key dates

The spring term finishes on Friday 20 June and the university will operate vacation opening hours. Services on campus may have reduced opening hours or close completely.

Normal service will resume with the start of the autumn term on Monday 22 September.

Services on campus

Hopper buses

Hopper buses will operate on non-term timetables with the exception of the 901 and 902 which operate the same schedule year-round.

Sport

Sport centres will be open as usual over the summer, with the exception of the following staff training days and bank holidays:

  • Thursday 10 July: all centres will be closed for staff training
  • Monday 25 August: bank holiday opening hours

Catering outlets on campus may operate on reduced hours, or close completely, over the summer break.

Libraries

Our libraries will remain open over the summer to support those working on assessments, but operate vacation opening hours.

You can still access library resources, whether you're in Nottingham or away from campus.

Student Service Centres

Student Service Centres will enter vacation opening hours from Monday 23 June.

Opening hours by location:

  • University Park East, University Park Central and Jubilee: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
  • Sutton Bonington: Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm
  • Derby: closed
  • QMC: closed

The Careers and Employability Service are open as usual over the summer, support is available online and in-person Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

The Residential Experience team will continue to provide activities for students staying in hall of residence over the summer period.

Wellbeing over the summer

Our wellbeing staff will continue working on campus during the summer months, and are able to help you with any general support you might need, including referrals to our Counselling service. You can also come along to a drop-in session this month or access the range of online resources available to you.
