Course overview

 

Electrical engineers design and develop new technologies to generate, transmit and process electrical power into useful work. Electrical engineering is central to addressing the emerging fields and challenges of renewable electrical systems, drivetrain electrification in hybrid and electric vehicles and modern 'Smart Grid' technologies. It underpins the shift to hybrid and fully electric cars, trains, ships and aircraft, as well as robotic systems, automated manufacturing and drone technologies. Fully accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), this course delivers strong graduate outcomes and competitive starting salaries.

On average, you will have around 20 contact hours a week in year one and two. Combined with coursework and self-study, you may spend over 40 hours a week on your studies.
