Congratulations to Dr Sharon Clancy and colleagues Nalita James (Warwick University) and Kevin Orr (University of Huddersfield) who have won an award for their publication at the Universities Association of Lifelong Learning Conference which was held in June. This is an international conference held annually and brings academics, together practitioners, researchers and policy makers with expertise in adult education and lifelong learning.
The Research Handbook on Adult Learning and Education won the innovation category which recognises innovations or creative initiatives that seek to expand lifelong learning.
Dr Clancy is a member of the Centre for Educational Leadership and Management and her research focuses on adult education, class, culture and social justice issues, with a particular interest on historical adult education through a historiographic lens. She has recently been successful in securing a Leverhulme Research Fellowship which starts in October 2025.
