Nottingham University Business School signs a new global partnership with Kumaraguru Institutions, India
Earlier this week, Nottingham University Business School had the honour of welcoming representatives from the Kumaraguru Institutions in India to discuss opportunities for future collaboration.
Established in 1984, Kumaraguru Institutions, based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, comprises five institutions across Engineering, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Management, and Agriculture, with over 9,000 students. With a strong focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-aligned education, the new collaboration aims to support student mobility, research partnerships, and global learning opportunities, further strengthening the Business School’s international network.
Dr Sara Turner, Associate Dean for Education and Student Experience in the Business School said:
“It was a pleasure to host President Shankar Vanavarayar and his delegation, Babaji Raja (Advisor), Vijila Edwin-Kennedy (Director of Global Engagements) and Sooriya Prakash (Assistant Vice President, HR) from Kumaraguru Institutions at our Business School. Our discussions highlighted the incredible synergy between our institutions, and how, by working together, we can equip our students with the entrepreneurial mindset and global perspective needed to become impactful change makers.”
The visit began with a tour of the Jubilee Campus where guests visited the Business School and The Ingenuity Lab at Haydn Green Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Guests met with academic and professional services staff and gained a deeper understanding of the school’s facilities and entrepreneurship initiatives.

In the afternoon, guests visited the University Park Campus, where Professor Nigel Mongan, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor for Global Engagement, formally signed the partnership agreement with Kumaraguru Institutions. Professor Mongan highlighted the University of Nottingham’s global presence, including its campuses in China and Malaysia, and the importance of continuing to build strong international relationships.
Professor Andrew Bacon, Associate Dean for External Engagement at the Business School, welcomed the collaboration and spoke about the exciting opportunities it will create for future students and staff.
This new partnership will facilitate knowledge exchange, enhance research collaboration, and broaden global learning experiences for both institutions.
